Gateau di patate (potato cake) – Italian recipe (VIDEO)

Ingredients:
-2 kg of potatoes
-100 g of butter
-200 ml of milk
-200 g of grated parmesan cheese
-250 g of mozzarella cheese
-5 spoons of grated bread crumbs
-5 eggs
-some sliced ham
-some sliced cheese
-some parsley
-salt and papper to taste
-some grated nutmeg


Preparation:
I boil the potatoes in a pressure cooker for 20 minutes.

Meanwhile I cut in cubs the mozzarella cheese and the ham. Then, I chop the parsley.

After I peel off the boiled potatoes, I mash them using a ricer.
Then I add the milk, 50 g of butter, salt and paper to taste, the chopped parsley, a pinch of grated nutmeg and the eggs, mixing all together.

Now, I grease a baking tray with the rest of butter and I cover the inner sides with grated bread.

I lay in the tray a layer of mashed potatoes, then one of ham, some parmesan and some slices of cheese.
Next, I spread another layer of potatoes, the mozzarella cheeze and the rest of ham.
Then I continue with the other layers using the remained ingredients.
The last layer should be with potatoes, parmesan cheese and some grated bread.
On top, add some butter and now it’s ready to bake for about 20 minutes on a preheat oven at 390 Fahrenheit degrees.

Wait 10 minutes after you removed it from oven. Then you cand serve it with pickles. Enjoy!
