|Italian Pasta and Peas Recipe
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cans diced tomatoes
¼ cup fresh basil leaf chopped
¼ cup heavy cream
1 medium onion chopped
½ teaspoon salt
10 ounces frozen peas
1 lb pasta (I use penne)
¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Preparation Instructions:
Cook the pasta in salted, boiling water until al dente. A minute before the pasta is finished, add the frozen peas to the boiling water. Drain the peas and pasta. Meanwhile, cook the chopped onion in olive oil over medium heat until it becomes tender. Add the diced tomatoes, basil, cream, salt and the pepper flakes. Stir and heat, but do not boil. Serve the sauce over pasta.
