Hatfield Hot Italian Sausage Flatbread with Mascarpone Cheese (VIDEO)

Prep time: 15 minutes | Cook time: 15 minutes | Serves: 4

Ingredients:
1 pack Hatfield® Recipe Essentials™ Hot Italian Ground Sausage
4 flatbreads (or naan breads)
4 oz mascarpone cheese
1 small jar pizza sauce
1 green pepper, julienned
1 small onion, sliced
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375°F.
In a sauté pan over medium high heat, cook sausage, stirring and breaking up with a spoon. Cook sausage until browned, about 10 minutes. Place in a bowl and set aside.
In the same pan, sauté peppers and onions until soft, about 8 minutes.
Arrange the flatbreads on a baking sheet. Top each with 2 Tbsp mascarpone. Add pizza sauce, sausage, peppers, and onions. Cover with mozzarella.
Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until cheese is thoroughly melted and golden brown.
