The Best Italian Egg Sandwich (VIDEO)

On this episode of Taste This, Leo makes an Italian egg dish called frittata. In Italy this dish is usually an appetizer for lunch or dinner, but it also makes a great sandwich! Egg, sausage, potato, cheese… wow!

RECIPE:
Italian Fritatta Egg Sandwich

Loaf of fresh Italian bread. Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside.
3 tbsp olive oil in pan
5 sweet or spicy Italian sausage, cut into 1 inch pieces
One large onion, half julienne, half chopped into small pieces
Butter
1 cup small chopped fingerling potato
10 whole eggs
Grated Parmesan Cheese


Put 3 tbsp olive oil in pan, add sausage and brown.
When Sausage is brown add onion and 2 tbsp butter. Brown Onion.
After a few minutes, add potato, add 2 tbsp butter, and black pepper
Cook until potatoes are soft – maybe 10 – 15 minutes
Add scrambled eggs to pan.
After bottom cooks to light brown, add 3 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese, then move to broiler. Cook in broiler. Add more Parmesan cheese after broiled, then back into broiler for another minute.
Make the sandwich with a slice of Fritatta.
