Italian Breakfast – How to make Biscotti (VIDEO)

Nick Saraf in this episode of Foodlog shows you how to make perfect Italian Biscotti.

Enjoying it’s provenance from the Italian city of Prato, Biscotti also known as Cantuccini are almond biscuits that are deliciously crunchy and a perfect partner with a hot cup of tea or coffee!

Ingridients:

Eggs: 2
Sugar: 2/3 cup of sugar
Almond Extract: 1/2 tsp
Flour: 1 3/4 cup
Baking Powder: 1 tsp
Salt: 1/4 tsp
Chopped Almond: 1 cup


Method:

– Break two eggs in a bowl and add sugar to it and whisk it well, till it forms little ribbons.
– Add almond extract to it and beat it. Take another bowl and serve flour in it and add baking powder and salt to it, add this mixture to the egg batter and mix well so that its properly combined, now add tossed blanched chopped almond to it. Once the whole mixture comes together roll the dough into a log. Put it on a tray and baked it for 25 mins in a pre-heated oven at 180 degrees.
– Let the log cool, once cooled cut into long strips and bake it again for 10 mins at 160 degrees, flip the biscuit over and bake it again for 10 mins.
– Your biscotti is ready and to be enjoyed with a cup of coffee or tea! Enjoy!
